“Our federal government wants all medical offices to move to an Electronic Medical Records package as soon as possible.  The stated intention is to ensure patient safety and provide better medical care while lowering medical expenses by reducing the need to repeat expensive medical tests.

The government stimulus plan has sliding incentives.  Physicians can earn between $44,000.00 and $64,000.00 from Medicare/Medicaid over a five year period if they can demonstrate utilization of EHR by 2011. 

We at Texas Medical Systems know that our clients expect us to provide outstanding support for any product that we sell.  CMEDS, our wonderful old practice management software has stood the test of time, but cannot be integrated with an EMR package because we have no way of importing data into CMEDS.  This does NOT mean that we will not continue to offer the same software support as always to our CMEDS customers.  We have no plans for the foreseeable future to discontinue support of CMEDS.
